Convert to EU Frequencies
Thanks to 'Chris' whom figured this out i can here present a way to convert these old radios to supportEU-Frequencies! (Steps of 0.1MHz).
You just need to solder in one diode in the right place - apparently Clarion used the same microcomputer on
models for the Australian market, that's why it can be programmed for 0.1MHz steps.
The pinouts are as follows:
PU-9079A/B, MY86-87, needs a Diode from Pin 28 to 23 on the microcomputer (from…to means Anode -> Cathode)
PU-9034A, MY84-85 from Pin 41 to 44
PU-9206A/B, MY88-89 from Pin 47 to 59
You can use just about any diode, for instance 1N4148.
All newer models (starting from PU-9206C) can be switched to EU-Freqencies by keycodes.
